How do I retrieve conformed copies and filed-endorsed caption pages?

Obtaining documents returned from the court

If your order is for a physical filing, we email your filed-endorsed caption pages. If your order is for an eFiling, or if you missed the email for a physical filing, you can access your documents by logging in to your One Legal account and clicking on the Orders tab. To learn about how to find a particular order in the list, click here.

Conformed copies and file-endorsed caption pages are available in the Orders page of your One Legal account once accepted by the court (for eFilings), or uploaded by a One Legal agent for other order types.  When documents are available, you will see a view docs link in the Status column on the Orders page. Click on the view docs link to open the Order Details page, where you will be able to access your filed documents.

Why wasn’t my document returned with a Filed stamp?

A document may not be returned with a Filed stamp because the court is still reviewing it, it requires a judge’s signature, or a formatting issue may have affected the stamped copy. In some cases, the court completes the filing but does not return the filed-stamped document through the eFiling system.

My document only has an “Electronically Received” stamp

An Electronically Received stamp means the court has received your document for processing. It does not confirm that the document has been filed.

The Filed stamped copy will be returned once the court completes its review. Documents requiring a judge’s signature, such as proposed orders, may take additional time to process.

Once the court returns the filed document through the eFiling system, your One Legal account will be updated and you will receive an email notification.

My order is complete, but the Filed stamp is missing

One Legal does not control the court’s application of filing stamps or the return of stamped documents. If your order is marked Complete and the filed-stamped copy is missing, contact One Legal Support with your order number and identify the affected document. We can try to help retrieve it.

Depending on the court, you may need to:

  • Download the filed document from the court’s Register of Actions (ROA). Some courts, such as Los Angeles Superior Court, may make documents available there.
  • Email the court to request the filed-stamped copy.

Document availability and retrieval procedures vary by court.

Could document formatting be the cause?

Formatting issues may affect document processing or the return of a stamped copy. Before submitting, make sure your PDFs meet the court’s document requirements.

For guidance, review Why did my PDF document fail submission?.

Proper formatting can help reduce avoidable issues and delays, although it does not guarantee when the court will return your filed-stamped documents.
